Lenovo has just launched a plethora of new laptops at this year’s IFA 2018, and they pack in features that ought to make them one of the best in their leagues.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme

The ThinkPad series has been known for its performance, and the new ThinkPad X1 Extreme is no different. The device is outfitted with some of the best hardware in the business and is also the first in the X1 Series to feature an NVIDIA discrete graphics chip.

The ThinkPad X1 Extreme packs in a 15.6-inch UHD 4K display, Dolby Atmos audio, and a 4GB GeForce 1050Ti MaxQ Edition graphics chip. As for its horsepower, the laptop comes with the latest 8th-gen Core i7 (+vPro) chipset, with an i9 variant coming later this year. The device can be outfitted with up to 64GB of RAM (2x DIMM) and 2x1TB of PCIe SSD. Additionally, the 80 Whr battery capacity is the highest among the ThinkPad X-Series, and Lenovo has included its Quick-Charge technology with this laptop as well.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme will start at $1859.99.

Lenovo Yoga Book C930

One of the highlights of Lenovo’s event, the Lenovo Yoga Book C390 is one of the best laptops launched at IFA 2018.

The high-end version of the 2018 Yoga Book is the Yoga Book C930, which packs in a 10.8-inch display, along with an e-ink keyboard. When you type, the keys can animate to confirm the input, and of course, you can open the Yoga Book in tablet mode when reading. The E-ink display is much more power-efficient than the LCD screen and makes it easy to read on. Additionally, the note-taking is still there with the Yoga Book, except that Lenovo has now made it possible to take notes on the E-ink surface, or on the color display.

As for the specs, the laptop comes outfitted with a Core i5-7Y54 or Core m3-7Y30 CPU along with 4 GB LPDDR3 and up to 256 GB PCIe SSD. The device packs in a 35.8Wh battery which should last up to 8.6 hours.

Lenovo says that the Yoga Book C930 will be available in October starting at $999.

Lenovo Yoga S730

The Lenovo Yoga S730 is one of the premium yet portable devices announced at IFA 2018.

Weighing in at only 2.6lbs (around 1.2kg) and measuring just 11mm thin, the Yoga S730 is a slim powerhouse, equipped with an Intel Core i7-8565U processor and up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM. It comes with a 13.3-inch Full HD IPS display along with PCIe SSD storage ranging from 128GB up to a whopping 1TB SSD. The laptop has also been rated for 10 hours of battery life and will also feature Dolby Atmos audio technology.

As of now, there is no word on the pricing or availability of the laptop.

Lenovo Yoga C630 WOS

Taking the off-road, the Lenovo Yoga C630 WOS Laptop is one of the first laptops to be based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon offerings, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 850 chipset.

It will also feature the Snapdragon X20 LTE modem which means that in addition to being able to connect using WiFi, users have the option of using LTE. What’s more is that Lenovo is boasting that the Yoga C630 WOS will be capable of offering up to 25 hours of local video playback on a single charge. Apart from that, the device packs in a 13.3-inch Full HD IPS touchscreen display, up to 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and an integrated fingerprint sensor.

As of now, there is no word on the pricing or availability of the laptop.

Lenovo Yoga Chromebook

Lastly, the company has also launched its latest Yoga Chromebook at IFA 2018, and it is nothing short of a powerhouse.

The Yoga Chromebook can be configured up to a 4K 15.6-inch display along with an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8250U Kaby Lake processor. It comes with 8GB of DDR4 RAM, up to 128GB of eMMC 5.1 storage, and Intel Graphics 620. The Chromebook weighs 4.2lbs and includes a stereo speaker, two USB Type-C, and one USB 3.1 ports as well as a 56WHr battery capable of lasting up to ten hours on a single charge. Last but not the least, the Chromebook will have support for Google Play Store out-of-the-box as well, and all customers will also receive 100GB of free Google Drive storage.

Lenovo has confirmed that the new Yoga Chromebook will be available in the EMEA region from October, with prices starting at €799.

Nikon D3500 Entry-Level DSLR Launched With 24.2MP DX CMOS Sensor

Having announced its Z6 and Z7 mirrorless cameras earlier this month, Japanese camera-maker, Nikon, has now announced the launch of its new entry-level DSLR camera, the Nikon D3500. The device replaces the D3400 that was launched a couple of years ago, and comes with a smaller and lighter design compared to the older model, with the company marketing it as its “most portable entry-level DSLR ever”.

Nikon D3500 Key Specifications

The D3500 features a 24.2MP DX-format CMOS sensor like the D3400, but the company says it’s a new unit with an upgraded Expeed image processor that offers sharper details with more vivid colors. The camera can record 1080p video at 60fps, but like its predecessor, there are no 4K capabilities in the new device. ISO sensitivity also remains at 100-25,600, as does the 11-point autofocus and the 5fps burst-mode, all of which emphasize the ‘entry-level’ status of the new device.

The D3500 features a 3-inch 921,000-dot resolution display, but it’s fixed and not touch-enabled either. The device also lacks Wi-Fi connectivity, but it does offer Bluetooth support with Nikon’s SnapBridge application. The battery is apparently larger than the one found on the D3400, and according to Nikon, enables the device to click about 1,550 shots on a single charge as opposed to 1,200 on the last-gen model.

The D3500 comes with a new layout for the buttons on its back. The playback button is now larger, while the menu buttons and other important controls have been moved to the right of the display. Seeing as this will mostly be used by novice photographers upgrading from point-and-shoots and/or smartphones, Nikon has also included what it’s calling the ‘Guide Mode’ to help them out.

Price and Availability

The Indian prices are yet to be announced, but in the US, the new camera has been priced at $499.95 (roughly Rs. 35,200) with the AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens and at $849.95 (roughly Rs. 59,900) with a two-lens kit including an AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED lens in addition to the aforementioned 18-55mm unit. It will be available for purchase globally from September 20.

Poco F1 Can’t Play HD Videos on Netflix, Amazon Prime and an OTA Won’t Fix This

If you happen to be a Netflix buff and have bought the super-charged affordable flagship, the Poco F1, for its attractive, notch display – which BTW, has great colors and sharpness – I have a bad news for you. The smartphone which is being hailed for its amazing hardware does not support HD playback on apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu – although it can Full HD videos on YouTube.

Well, this is because the Poco F1 does not feature what is called a “Widevine L1” license. Basically, Widevine is a licensing platform by Google used for digital rights management (DRM). If all those jargons just flew over your head, Widevine is a certification standard which restricts videos to lower resolution on certain phones in order to prevent pirates from screen-recording a movie or a show and distributing copies illegally.

As this article explains, to be able to allow HD access on devices, manufacturers must pass a test and are thus graded from L3, L2, or L1 (L1 being the highest) depending upon hardware support. The Pooc F1 scores L3 here and thus the video resolution you can achieve on it is limited to 540p.

Not Fixable by OTA

In case you’re wondering, smartphones can be upgraded to L1, which is essential for 720p and higher playback, but in order to enable that, the Poco F1 must be taken to the service center or even worse, might have to be sent back to the company. A bummer, right? As the official Widevine documentation says,

The Widevine keybox must be encrypted with a device-unique secret key that is not visible to software or probing methods outside of the TrustZone. The Widevine key-box must be installed in the factory or delivered to the device using an approved secure delivery mechanism.

OnePlus 5T and 5 users had to face a similar tussle last year to get the feature enabled and actually send their devices to the company, in typically the same fashion such as a recall of a specific car model.

You can verify this on your smartphone by using an app called DRM Info.

Result of Cost Cutting? Not Really!

As elaborated in this article, Widevine DRM licensing does not require manufacturers to pay. So, the only possible explanations I can think of right now are: first, Xiaomi hurried on the Poco F1 launch to slice through Honor Play‘s sales just because mobile gaming is suddenly booming, and second, it did not want the phone to leak – which, however, the phone did anyway.

Essentially, there needs to be some transparency in the way DRM rights are handled as spec sheets usually do not talk about it.

Meanwhile, we’ve written to Xiaomi to know whether they would be opening up a replacement program to enable the feature on the large number of Poco F1 already bought by users.

Valve Announces CS: GO Free Edition with Offline Gameplay Support

Valve has announced a free-to-play version of its hit multiplayer first-person shooter game, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, which has support for offline gameplay. Announced via the release notes for CS:GO dated August 29th, the free version of the game went live later the same day and is currently listed on Steam as ‘Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Free Edition’.

The game is available to download for macOS and Windows devices, however, not much official detail is known about the gameplay experience provided by the free-to-play title, such as availability of in-game items and levels among others. ‘Free for offline play against bots and spectating matches through GOTV’, reads the game’s description on Steam.

The decision to launch a limited version of CS:GO which only lets you play against bots, and that too, on just a solo mission is quite baffling, because the game is known for its immersive multiplayer experience. CS:GO Free Edition won’t let you connect with a public server and join other players in a mission, so basically, you are stuck with shooting bots.

But there are also a couple of silver linings here. The game provides new players an opportunity to try CS:GO and check out its gameplay before they shell out money to buy the full game with online multiplayer support. The game’s free-to-play version is basically equivalent to providing a practice ground for newbies who can hone their skills before they are ready to jump into the battlefield with experienced players from all across the world.

Also, the free version comes with support for GOTV, which means you can watch CS:GO esports tournaments in spectator mode, which is an added bonus. The free edition has arrived just in time when the FACEIT Major London 2018 tournament is set to kick off, that will see 24 top CS:GO teams from all around the world face off in the esports tournament with a million-dollar prize pool.

Xperia XZ3 Hands On: Shiny, Slippery and Oh so Sony

Sony may not be the smartphone powerhouse it used to be but the company has managed to stay in the limelight with the flagship smartphones. The next-gen of those premium smartphones is here with the Sony Xperia XZ3, which we spent some time with at IFA 2018.

Design and Build

The XZ3 builds on the design first seen in the XZ2 earlier this year which means a glass back with rounded edges and rounded screen corners as well. The back has a single camera which is placed rather low and towards the centre, as a result the fingerprint sensor seems to be lower than other phones, which could be a problem for you.

With that fingerprint sensor placement, and the glossy sides, handling this phone is a major issue. I struggled to get a decent grip of the phone while juggling a camera and my bag. It’s certainly not ideal, especially since Sony has not trimmed down the top and bottom bezels to make a smaller phone. The result is a big phone with slippery sides and the penchant to attract plenty of fingerprints. This looks particularly bad when thousands are checking out your phone and leave their fingerprints behind. Also you are likely to be distracted by the constant reflection and glares from the back when you are using it in a brightly-lit room.

It’s better to go with the silver model as this one has no issues with fingerprint, but the darker red, green and black models definitely don’t look new when you have held them even just for a few minutes.

Display

The highlight of the XZ3 is the 6-inch OLED display, which is super bright and vibrant. There’s little to complain about in this display and the demo videos looked amazing on this phone. Of course, these are just demo videos so they have been corrected to look great on the device, but you could see its potential in other areas as well, especially in the great contrast that it offers. Naturally, being a P-OLED display, it’s not going to compete with Super AMOLED displays by Samsung, but it looked fantastic from all viewing angles.

The UI has remained largely unchanged from past Sony phones, but for some reason Sony has introduced a longer animation transition duration out of the box, which makes it feel slow. Pulling down the notifications or quick toggles seemed to take forever. All of this can be changed after you have the phone, but the ‘stock’ experience is definitely not ideal.

Cameras

We also had a chance to see some of the camera features and tested the Portrait Mode for selfies as well as the Bokeh mode for background blurring with the rear camera. Whether it is due to the pre-production software is not clear, but the selfie portraits had aggressive blurring combined with weak edge detection. That made selfies look ghost-like instead of having that cool effect.

The main camera was quick to focus and capture, and it managed to grab plenty of detail from the crowded Sony booth. I would say it performs on par with most flagships out there based on a few shots but the single camera could hold back its performance in all conditions.

Just an Evolution

On the face of it, we have a powerful flagship, but Sony’s lack of innovation in hardware design, and choice of sticking to 2017-standard camera specs definitely make it a weaker proposition as compared to some of the other devices which have released this year. I simply can’t see how even die-hard Sony Xperia fans can see something good in this phone, especially when the XZ2 is so similar already.

Of course, the presence of Android Pie is a great choice, but is that enough when camera specs have become such a major point of differentiation among premium smartphones? We will have to see when we get our hands on a review unit of this phone. Till then feast your eyes on the photos above.

కథ :

కళామందిర్ కళ్యాణ్ ( శివాజీరాజా ) తనకు కూతురు పుట్టాలని అనుకుంటాడు కానీ అనూహ్యంగా అబ్బాయి (నాగశౌర్య ) పుడతాడు . అయితే తండ్రి కోసం తన కొడుకు ని కూతురులా పెంచుతాడు . పెరిగి పెద్దవాడైన నాగశౌర్య మహిళలల రక్షణ కోసం ఓ క్లబ్ నిర్వహిస్తుంటాడు అదే సమయంలో మానస (కాశ్మీర ) ని కాపాడతాడు అలా ఆమెతో ప్రేమలో పడతాడు . అయితే అనుకోని అవాంతరంలా సత్య ( యామిని భాస్కర్ ) ని పెళ్లి చేసుకోవాల్సి వస్తుంది . మానస ని ప్రేమించిన నాగశౌర్య సత్య ని పెళ్లి చేసుకున్నాడా ? లేక మానస ని పెళ్లి చేసుకున్నాడా ? చివరకు ఏమైంది అన్నది తెలియాలంటే సినిమా చూడాల్సిందే .

నాగశౌర్య గే పాత్రలో నటించడానికి ఒప్పుకొని సాహసమే చేసాడు . ఫస్టాఫ్ లో లవర్ గా సెకండాఫ్ లో గే గా బాగానే నటించాడు కానీ అతడి పూర్తి ప్రతిభ వాడుకునే ప్రయత్నం దర్శకుడు చేయలేదు . దాంతో నాగశౌర్య తన పాత్ర పరిధిమేరకు నటించాడు అంతే ! హీరోయిన్ లు కాశ్మీర పరదేశి , యామిని భాస్కర్ లకు పెద్దగా నటించడానికి అవకాశం లేకుండా పోయింది అయితే తమ గ్లామర్ తో అలరించారు . అజయ్ కి మంచి పాత్ర లభించింది . శివాజీరాజా పాత్ర కొన్ని చోట్లా నవ్వించినప్పటికీ మరికొన్ని చోట్ల అతిగా అనిపించింది .

సాంకేతిక వర్గం :

ఐరా క్రియేషన్స్ నిర్మాణ విలువలు బాగున్నాయి , అయితే ఛలో చిత్రానికి వినసొంపైన సంగీతాన్ని అందించిన సాగర్ మహతి ఈ చిత్రానికి అంతగా ఆకట్టుకునేలా పాటలు ఇవ్వలేకపోయాడు . ఛాయాగ్రహణం ఈ సినిమాకు హైలెట్ గా నిలిచింది . ఇక దర్శకులు శ్రీనివాస చక్రవర్తి విషయానికి వస్తే …… వినోదానికి ఎక్కువగా స్కోప్ ఉన్న లైన్ ని ఎంచుకున్నాడు కానీ దాన్ని సరైన రీతిలో తెరకెక్కించడంలో పూర్తిగా విఫలమయ్యాడు . స్లో నెరేషన్ తో ప్రేక్షకులు నీరసపడేలా చేసాడు .

ఓవరాల్ గా :

ఛలో వంటి సూపర్ హిట్ తీసిన సంస్థ నుండి వస్తున్న చిత్రం కావడంతో @ నర్తనశాల చిత్రం పై భారీ అంచనాలు నెలకొన్నాయి , అయితే ఆ అంచనాలను అందుకోవడంలో @ నర్తనశాల విఫలమయ్యింది .

Yet another Apple leak has made its way out into the wild, once again courtesy of 9to5Mac who have got a hold of a press image for the Apple Watch Series 4 that the Cupertino giant is expected to launch at its event on September 12, press invites for which have already been sent out earlier today.

The leaked image shows off an Apple Watch with some major changes, most importantly, the fact that it has a much bigger, edge to edge display — something that has been rumored for a while — and Apple has reduced the bezels to fit this 15% bigger screen on the Apple Watch Series 4.

There’s also a new watch face with an analog clock and it’s rather information dense. There are 8 complications on the watch face itself, and we’re sure Apple will have designed a bunch of other new watch faces as well (hopefully not another mickey mouse one though).

On the side, we can see that the digital crown has been redesigned from the Series 3, and it has a red ring instead of a big red blotch on what can be safely assumed is the GPS + cellular variant of the Apple Watch. There’s also a new microphone below the crown here, which could be aimed at noise cancellation.

The Apple Watch Series 4 is expected to be launched on September 12, so we’ll know more about it then (or maybe earlier if there are more leaks, in which case we’ll keep you updated).

BlackBerry and its iconic physical keyboards have finally become accessible to a lot more users with the launch of the much-awaited BlackBerry KEY2 LE at IFA 2018 in Berlin. It’s been priced starting at $399 and will go on sale next month.

The BlackBerry KEY2 LE is a less powerful and cheaper variant of the BlackBerry KEY2 flagship smartphone, which was launched earlier in June as an upgrade over TCL Communication’s KEYone. The highlight here is that it brings the QWERTY keyboard to users who felt the KEY2 was priced too steeply for their liking.

Note: For those unaware, TCL Communication is the company leading the charge of the Blackberry brand and its mobile phones (no in India though).

The BlackBerry KEY2 LE, as you can above, has retained the core aesthetic of the KEY2, but building an affordable device does come with its sacrifices. The KEY2 LE sports a polycarbonate body in comparison to the metal build of TCL’s flagship.

As for the physical keyboard, you are still getting the same 35 backlit keys placed under the 4.5-inch Full-HD IPS LCD screen (1620 x 1080 pixels, 3:2 aspect ratio). The fingerprint sensor is also still integrated into the space bar but the keys are no longer touch-sensitive.

As is expected of a mid-ranger, the BlackBerry KEY2 LE is powered by a Snapdragon 636 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box, with BlackBerry security tools in tow.

The device packs a 13MP (f/2.2) +5MP (f/2.4) dual rear-camera setup, along with dual-tone LED flash, portrait mode, HDR, 4K video recording at 30 fps, and Private Capture. You’ll also see an 8MP fixed-focus selfie camera on board, which sounds good enough.

There’s now also a smaller 3,000mAh battery on board as compared to the 3,500mAh battery pack on the flagship KEY2. It supports Quick Charge 3.0 and you’ll get an 18W USB-C charger in the box.

While BlackBerry KEY2 wasn’t able to garner much attention, the company’s mid-ranger looks more appealing and accessible to the masses – especially those nostalgic physical keyboard lovers. I mean, I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy the KEY2 LE but the device does look stunning in its three color variants – Slate, Champagne, and especially the red-colored Atomic one.

2018 iPhone Press Image Leaked, Will be Called iPhone XS

A short while after Apple sent out press invites for its annual iPhone launch event which has now been confirmed to be taking place on September 12, press images of the huge 6.5-inch iPhone, and the 5.8-inch iPhone have leaked out.

The leak comes courtesy of 9to5Mac and shows the two new iPhones in a Gold color that we saw with last year’s iPhone X when it passed through FCC, but was never made available for sale. This time around though, it seems as though Apple will let customers buy the new Gold variant in at least the two, more expensive, OLED display touting iPhones that are expected to be priced around $899 and $999.

The report from 9to5Mac also claims that the new iPhones (both the 5.8-inch and the 6.5-inch variants) will be called iPhone XS — a name that I’ve been quietly hoping was incorrect thanks to the sheer weirdness that is the naming scheme that might follow. However, 9to5’s tipster Guilherme Rambo has been exceedingly accurate with his leaks around iPhones, and it seems to be pretty much a confirmation that the new iPhone will indeed be called the iPhone XS.

Coming back to the image, however, the two iPhones don’t show off much that we wouldn’t expect on an iPhone. The wallpaper does make it look as if there’s no notch on the phones but everyone is pretty sure it’s just a strategically chosen wallpaper and nothing more — an assessment that I agree with.

Anyway, you can feast your eyes on this iPhone XS press image while you wait for the official unveil of the device on September 12.

Apple Sends Out Press Invites for the 2018 iPhone Launch Event

Keeping with tradition over the last few years, Apple has sent out press invites for the official unveiling of the new 2018 iPhones. The event, as was previously expected, will take place on the 12th of September at the Steve Jobs Theatre in Apple Park.

The invitation comes with a circular ring design printed on top that looks to be a representation of Apple’s brand new office building, along with the words ‘Gather Round.’

The event will be taking place starting at 10 am, and will be live streamed on Apple’s website for everyone to follow along as Apple unveils the next generation of its iPhone lineup.

As for what we’re expecting to see at the event, there are reports of three new iPhone variants this time around with the lowest-end variant seeing an aggressive pricing of $699. We’re also expecting to see a brand new Apple Watch Series 4 with slimmer bezels, along with the company (finally) launching its AirPower wireless charging mat that it showed off last year during the official unveil of the iPhone X.

Other than that, a new iPad Pro is expected with Face ID, no home button, and slimmer bezels all around (a notch might be present, but isn’t expected as of now), and we’re also expecting to see the company refresh its line up of iMacs and the iMac Pro. The much awaited Mac Pro refresh, however, won’t make an appearance this year, with Apple already having said that the pro-focused workstation will come out in 2019.

Tez’s Rebrand to Google Pay Starts Rolling Out to Some Users

Just when Google’s India-focused payments platform – Tez was set to celebrate its first anniversary, it was declared that it’ll be rebranded to Google Pay to unify the company’s payment efforts.

This announcement came earlier this week at the fourth edition of the Google for India event but it now seems like the Google Pay rebrand has started rolling out to Tez users.

Yes, the tech giant has updated the payments app to v17 to include the Google Pay insignia, as well as branding across the app. This is just the first step taken by the tech giant towards building its payments platform in India, paving the way for its expansion beyond UPI transactions.

As you can see in the screenshots above, the rebrand doesn’t mean that the Tez app is changing its core functionality right off the bat. The new Google Pay rebrand looks and works the same as before, except for a few trivial things that may have been moved around a little.

Currently, you can only attach your UPI account to Google Pay and continue to use the audio-based Tez mode to exchange money, pay bills, and complete payments. Tez has given Google a lot of insight into how to reform its payments app and some of its most popular features including easy-access to contacts, one-touch mobile recharge, and rewards are now being ported to Google Pay in other countries.

Google Tez, as revealed by Google, has been a runaway success with close to 22 million users onboarding the platform to make over 750 million transactions in under a year. It collectively amounted to a massive ₹2 lakh crore run-rate, which is expected to only rise further as Pay expands to online/ offline merchants across the nation.

Telegram Updates Privacy Policy; Will Disclose User Information on Court Order

Amidst an ongoing tiff with the Russian government which has led to a ban on Telegram in the country, the company has made some changes to the messaging platform’s privacy policy which makes Telegram less secure for terrorists.

The company has updated Telegram’s privacy policy to comply with the new GDPR laws imposed by the European Union. The update privacy policy states that ‘If Telegram receives a court order that confirms you’re a terror suspect, we may disclose your IP address and phone number to the relevant authorities’.

So far, Telegram has not been ordered by a court to reveal the IP address and phone number of Telegram users who are suspects of terrorist activities. However, Telegram mentions that if the need arises, the company will comply with the judicial orders and will also publish the details of the whole incident in an official transparency report. The company claims that the new move won’t jeopardize with the security aspect of Telegram, however, it will make the ultra-secure messaging platform less safe for terrorists.

“In the privacy policy, we reserve the right to transfer the IP-address and telephone number of terrorists to the relevant services by a court decision. Regardless of whether we ever use this right, such a measure should make Telegram less attractive for those who are engaged in sending out terrorist propaganda here”, Telegram’s founder and CEO, Pavel Durov said in an official statement.

However, the updated privacy laws do not mean that Telegram has bowed down to the demands of the Russian government. As Durov mentioned later in his statement, Russia’s FSB (Federal Security Service) has asked Telegram to hand over the encryption keys so that the government body can access all messages and media shared on the platform.

The company has maintained that handing over the encryption keys would be equivalent to mass surveillance and will be strictly against Telegram’s code of privacy. Telegram is unwilling to accede to the demands of the Russian government and remains banned in the country, where the government has resorted to blocking IP addresses owned by Google, Amazon and others to sever the citizens’ access to Telegram.

Here’s a First Look at the Mi Mix 3; Coming in October

After Honor launched the Honor Magic 2, it seems Xiaomi is trying to hog the spotlight from the company’s brand new Kirin 980 boasting smartphone.

Xiaomi co-founder and President, Bin Lin has just posted a teaser image of the Mi Mix 3 on Weibo. The image shows a device that’s very obviously the successor to the Mi Mix 2 we have right now, and it shows a device that finally does away with the god-awful selfie camera placement on the chin of the device.

Judging by the image, it looks like the device will be almost entirely bezel-less from all four sides, and won’t feature a notch with Xiaomi opting to go with an Oppo Find X like slider for the selfie camera.

Speaking of which, the image shows a device with two sensors on the front, which could either be a dual selfie camera, or it could be a selfie camera along with a sensor for something like IR facial recognition, or (hopefully) a Mi 8 Explorer Edition like facial recognition feature.

Previous rumors have suggested a completely bezel-less display on the Mi Mix 3, and this image from Bin Lin seems to confirm that rumor at the very least. Apart from that, the Mi Mix 3 is expected to come with the Snapdragon 845, a 2K display from Samsung, wireless charging, and even an in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone is also expected to come in four variants including 6GB/64GB, 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB variants. Pricing for the phone is expected to be around RMB 3999 (around Rs. 39,000).

Honor Magic 2 Previewed: Truly Bezel-less Display, Kirin 980 and Sliding Cameras

IFA 2018 is here and Honor announced the global launch of the Honor Play. However, at the end of the press conference, Honor decided to drop in a teaser to another of its upcoming devices.

Following the end of the global launch of the Honor Play, George Zhao, CEO of Honor, showcased the upcoming Honor Magic 2. According to him, ‘Magic’ holds a special no-compromise element within the company, and after the Magic was the first smartphone with AI, the new Magic 2 will also introduce a number of firsts.

While there weren’t any details shared about the device, Zhao did announce that the Magic 2 will be powered by the company’s upcoming flagship processor, the Kirin 980, which is the world’s first 7nm processor and will be unveiled later at Huawei’s keynote presentation. However, apart from the SoC, the big thing with the Magic 2 will be the totally FullView display – with the camera and speaker on a sliding up panel (similar to the Oppo Find X) and 40W fast charging support.

As of now, there is no official release date for the Honor Magic 2. However, the presentation did suggest that the device will be launched later this year.

‘DC Universe’ Streaming Service to Launch on September 15

DC Entertainment has announced that its new subscription service, DC Universe, will launch on September 15. According to the company, the service will have plenty of classic and recent DC TV shows available to watch, although, no original content will premiere in the first few weeks. There’s no word on when the first new live-action show developed exclusively for DC Universe, Titans, will start airing, but a new version of Teen Titans will reportedly premiere on October 12.

Subscriptions will cost $7.99 per month or $74.99 per year, while pre-ordering an annual membership before launch will enable users to get three additional months for free. Fans signing up before the September 15 launch date will also be eligible for entry into the Ultimate Batman Sweepstakes whose lucky winner will get to tour the Warner Brothers studios and take a joyride in the Batmobile.

Meanwhile, alongside Titans, some of the other all-new shows that are expected to hit the platform include a series called Doom Patrol, a show called Swamp Thing, the third season of Young Justice and a new live-action series called Stargirl, among others.

The launch date, which coincides with the DC-created ‘Batman Day’, was officially announced during the first episode of a news show called DC Daily, which will be the successor to DC All Access. The first episode was hosted by Kevin Smith, and co-hosts will include DC alumni John Barrowman and Harley Quinn Smith.

Available shows will include Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (starring Teri Hatcher and Dean Cain), Wonder Woman (starring Lynda Carter), Birds of Prey, Batman Beyond, Justice League and more. However, missing in action will be some of the biggest recent blockbusters, such as Man of Steel, Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and the like.
