Google Assistant is the best voice assistant on the market right now. It is miles ahead of Siri when it comes to either features or usability. Probably the only voice assistant which has any chance of beating Google Assistant in the future is Alexa. I use the Google Assistant on a daily basis for things like getting weather reports, checking my daily schedule, setting up reminder and more. Despite it being so useful, Google Assistant has received a lot of flake in the past due to privacy concerns. It’s no secret that Google collects data on us, however, the new concerns regarding the automatic recording of voice using the Assistant is something that we cannot ignore. So, if you are someone who is not comfortable with Google having all your voice data, here is how you can turn off Google Assistant on your Android device:

Google does not make it easy to turn off Google Assistant on your Android device. In fact, if you don’t know where to look for it, you will not be able to find the settings on your own. That’s why it’s so important to have this information available to all our readers. So, if you are ready, here is how you can turn off Google Assistant on your Android device:

  1. First, launch the Google Assistant your device then tap on the explore button marked in the picture below. On the next page, tap on the three-dot menu and then select Settings.

2. Now, under the “Assistant” tab find the “Phone” option and tap on it. At the top, there will be an option reading “Google Assistant”. Just turn it off by flicking the switch off.
